No Excuses, But A Lot Of Reasons

I thought this was awesome.

Just Alyssa

6packHere we go again. Yet another “no excuses” mom needs us to laud her 6-pack abs as she shames the rest of us for not looking like her. As a trainer, and a gym-owner, these things make me cringe. They are not inspirational, except that they inspire rage in me with an intensity that few other things can. They are amongst the most harmful things out there, if what we’re really trying to do is inspire people to be strong and healthy. And happy.

  1. I really liked that one – though I’ve always been skeptical of the “no judging” crowd. They’re commonly the most judgemental of them all. I stick to the old, “it’s none of my business what someone else thinks of me as long as my side of the street is clean”. I can be happy and forgiving in the midst of someone’s ignorance or stupidity. Besides, I’m a harsher judge of myself and I get into trouble when someone’s judgement comfirms what I already feel. That’s what hurts but that’s still on me anyway.

  2. Syd says:

Perfection isn’t possible, yet so many people including me have tried to achieve it in some way. I am happier now than in many years because I know that there is only so much that I can do. I too don’t feel very good when someone is not encouraging but pointing out how wonderful they are.
