I Would Run 1000 Miles

Yesterday I surpassed my total mileage for last year: 1,106.3.

The heart rate data is completely wrong since I never wear a heart rate monitor. I’m not sure why it shows anything.

I’m still feeling pretty beat from Sunday’s race. In addition to my hip being still off, I’ve got some sort of bug with a sore throat. Ya think my body might be telling me something?

  1. listen to your body. Of course, easy to say, hard to do. I’ve had to listen, and I don’t like what I hear! 3+ weeks with no running because of Achilles tendon issues. PT twice a week. Cycling / conditioning /stretches. Still nothing like running. But with the rest comes renewed energy and focus, at least for me. I got this Achilles tendonitis by NOT listening to my body! Too much too soon for this gung-ho newbie.

    So as someone told me as soon as i got this injury – put your legs up and eat some chips. Ha ha. sounds like sound advice.

    As for 1,000 miles – that’s amazing. I can’t wait to be back out there and make that a goal next year!

    • The trouble with listening to my body is it likes the chips too much! Lol.

      But you’re right about needing to rest appropriately and that in the long run it will be better for my performance. I hope your Achilles heals soon. That does not sound like fun at all.
