Nervous Excitement

Ability is what you’re capable of doing.
Motivation determines what you do.
Attitude determines how well you do it.

To use you as an example of determination
You are a motivator:)

My trainer sent me the above quote and email message after I reported back my 5k results to her last week. She’s the best.

I’m all packed for the trip to Connecticut for the half marathon. We’ll be staying at my mother-in-law’s house, which makes things easy. I won’t have to worry about regular household things for a few days and my semi-surly teenaged son will be less surly because he loves spending time with his grandmother. I’m happy that my mother-in-law, sister-in-law and my niece and nephew will be on the course to cheer me on in a couple locations.

Anxiety is hitting me a little. I hear that’s normal. Despite repeating to myself that no matter what happens, it’s all good, I have hopes for myself. That in itself worries me. Having hopes growing up was not a good idea; my mother lived to dash them into the dirt.

But I’m still creating hopes because I don’t know how I’d wake up every morning without drinking if I lost them.

She might have won a few battles, granted.
    But you’re here today.
    She lost the war, PV.
    You came home to yourself.
