Estrangement vs Abadonment

Here’s a blog post by a therapist regarding parents of estranged children. It sums up my stance on the subject far more eloquently than I.

In summary, if my kid estranges me, I’m gonna look in the mirror. And I’m not holding my breath that my parents will ever take even a puny step towards true reconciliation with me. They ditched any facsimile of being decent parents a long time ago.
