Moving Forward

Woo hoo!

Just had my ass-kicked with personal training, but at the end we did a weight/fitness test to benchmark where I’d come from, and in the last month I took 5 years off my age and lost 2 percentage points of BMI (now at 22) that have been converted to muscle. I’ve also moved from “normal” to “high” range if fitness for my age group.

I don’t look at scales (I’ve had obsessive problems with those numbers in the past), but it’s still awesome to see how far I’ve come. I’ve been working literally my ass off.

Here’s irony: as a recovering alcoholic, I don’t drink enough. Water, that is. I’ve also recently cut Diet Coke and caffeine. But I’m dehydrated. I’ve neglected to replace these beverages with enough water, especially in light is my increased exercise. I don’t sweat enough and get red faced rather quickly.

I’m still learning. 🙂

Yk, I’m a big drinker-always have been thirsty from the time I was a kid. Just a thought, OK? I really love Celestial Season’s Green Tea Decaf Mint. I don’t care much for warm tea, but I’ve always kept a few large containers of this in the fridge because I drink ice tea year round, all day. Even friends who aren’t into tea love it and the mint gives it a nice little zing. Maybe you’d like to try this some time? I know it’s not a “Sports Drink” or a replacement for all the electrolytes we loose when we sweat, but the last thing you need is to be side-lined by dehydration or (oh, OUCH!) kidney stones especially as the weather warms up.
Your training is going great-you’re doing great!

Have your say
